Brenda also enjoys encouraging others to be creative and write.
She has run writing workshops with students at University of Bristol and University of Bath, and in March 2025 delivered workshops for young people around playwriting & looking after yourself in the industry, funded by WECA.
Brenda led an Intro to Playwriting workshop at The Writers Block in Redruth. Alongside the tour of her play Gluck’s Flowers, she ran workshops around writing from archives with a queer lens – since she has delivered this workshop at Bristol Museum, and libraries across Devon.
From June 2026, Brenda will be leading a short form playwriting group with Scratch Theatre at The Greenbank in Easton, Bristol.
She has facilitation experience with young people and PWLD, currently working at Misfits Theatre and Travelling Light Theatre, and is interested in supportive, inclusive creative activities.
She also enjoys giving 1:1 dramaturgy support. She was dramaturg on The 97%, a short play by Oli Grant, and a drag show about gender for a Creative Futures sharing. She regularly gives dramaturg support on scripts for fellow writers. She has given dramaturgy support to young people through WECA and Creative Youth Network, and is looking for more dramaturgy sessions in the future.
Please get in touch if you’d like to hear more, or have any workshop or dramaturgy opportunities.
